Liv-ex Fine Wine Power 100 – First Growths command top spots

By December 13, 2010Fine Wine Market, Indices

This week sees the release of the 2010 edition of the Liv-ex Fine Wine Power 100.

This year's list – which ranks brands based on their “power” in the marketplace – exhibits a distinctly Asian flavour, as well as a return to the traditional. With Lafite at the helm, the First Growths occupy all five of the top spots this year (the first time this has happened in its four year history), whilst the remaining top ten reflects the overwhelming dominance of Bordeaux. Lafite also topped the listing in 2009.

The full ranking, along with a comprehensive analysis of the results, will be published in the December issue of the Drinks Business - due to hit desks later this week. We will also be posting the full report here on Friday.

P100

The Liv-ex Fine Wine Power 100 measures brands’ “power” in the marketplace based on the level of trade they attract on the Liv-ex Fine Wine Exchange; their average score from Robert Parker; average price; one year price performance; and weighted production (price multiplied by average production). The wine brands are then ranked on their aggregate score across the five criteria.
