Our recent post on the correlation between fine wine prices and billionaires sparked some interesting discussion on Jancis Robinson's forum. The key point raised was that Forbes measures wealth in dollars, whereas our indices are GBP-based.
Above is the same chart converted into USD (we also included the S&P 500, the USD-based equity index, for good measure). As you can see, although the returns provided by fine wine are lessened using this conversion, the remarkable correlation remains.
