Critics’ scores

Neal Martin (Vinous) called the 2021 Palmer ‘superb’ and awarded it 94-96 points. He added that it is ‘very long, very suave on the finish’.

Antonio Galloni (Vinous) gave it 94-97 and said that ‘readers will find a Palmer that offers a compelling mix of opulence and energy’.

The Wine Advocate’s William Kelley scored it 95-97 points. He explained that ‘the 2021 marks a return to the classical proportions of the 1990s – with all the additional concentration and precision that Thomas Douroux’s pioneering viticulture and thoughtful winemaking have brought to the equation at this address in the interim’.

The wine also boasts 92-94+ from Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent), 94-96 from Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider) and 96-points from Jane Anson.
