Meininger’s Wine Business International – More Alcohol

Red wines in Bordeaux have moved in steady steps towards more alcohol, while there has been a sharp increase in Piedmont, Tuscany and California. In Burgundy, Piedmont and California, however, there are tentative declines to be seen.

The data are based on an evaluation of wines of the respective vintages and origins by the London wine trade platform Liv-Ex.
