Filhot 2018 has been released at €15 p/b ex-negociant, the same as the 2017’s opening price. The wine is being offered by the international trade at £180 per 12×75.

James Suckling is the only critic used in our ‘Benchmark Critic’ series to have scored the wine so far. Suckling awarded it a barrel range of 86-87 and described it as possessing “medium body, sweet palate and a caramelized finish.”

James Molesworth has also reviewed today’s release, scoring it 91-94 points. In his tasting note, Molesworth said the wine was “intense, featuring peach, apricot and ginger notes that are brightly defined”.

Another vintage that might interest score-conscious buyers is the 2015, which boasts 89-91 points from Neal Martin, but is available at a slight premium. The cheaper 2013 might also look attractive (NM 86-88).
