Each year, Liv-ex surveys the international wine trade upon their return from tasting the new Bordeaux vintage. The survey is designed to track the consensus of opinion amongst the best professional tasters of young Bordeaux, and respondents include the world's biggest professional buyers and sellers of fine wine. This year's results are in and can be found on the Liv-ex En Primeur pages.
In summary, as voted by the Liv-ex membership:
- Margaux is the wine of the 2010 vintage.
- Grand Puy Lacoste tops the “value for money” category.
- Mouton Rothschild was the most disappointing wine.
- The vintage scored 95+ (out of 100) on average.
- On average, merchants are expecting less demand than for the 2009s.
- Euro release prices are expected to be 4.5% higher than those of 2009.
