  • Buyers might consider the 2020 and 2018 vintages.

As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château La Conseillante 2021 has been released at €156 per bottle ex-négociant, unchanged on the 2020’s opening price.

Critics’ scores

Both Neal Martin and Antonio Galloni at Vinous liked the wine, rating it 95-97 points. Martin said it was a ‘beautiful La Conseillante’ with ‘lovely depth and grip’.

‘A super-classic La Conseillante the likes of which has not been made here in a very long time,’ wrote Galloni who rated it 95-97.

Jane Anson scored it 95-points saying it was a ‘successful showing’ for the estate’s 150th vintage.

Fair Value analysis

Today’s opening price comes at a premium to the price implied by Liv-ex’s Fair Value methodology. It will look better value should it end up on 97-points when rated in-bottle.

Buyers looking for value right now might be interested in the 2018 and 2020 vintages, which have scores of 97-points from Neal Martin and are available for a little less.
