The most-searched-for wines so far this year are overwhelmingly Château Lafite Rothschild. Led by searches for the 2018 vintage, seven of the top 10 searched for wines this year have been for the First Growth.

The vintages 2010-2019 – though excluding the 2013 – have been searched the most. The three most recent physical vintages, 2018, 2016 and 2017 (in that order) top the list.

The 2015, 2014, 2019, 2011 were the next most-searched vintages in the top 10, with the 2012 and 2010 close behind.

The top traded Lafite of the year

The 2018 vintage of Lafite has been in high demand all year and is currently the most traded wine by value in the secondary market this year.

As can be seen in the chart above, the 2018, 2016 and 2017 vintages have all enjoyed a positive year in terms of price performance.

The 2017 – being the cheaper of the three – has had the best year-to-date performance, up 33%.

The other labels in the top 10 were the 2018 and 2016 vintages of Château Mouton-Rothschild and 2018 vintage of Sassicaia.

Although they haven’t enjoyed quite the same price-performance as some of Lafite’s wines they are all up over the year so far.

Sassicaia 2018 is the second most-traded wine by value this year and the most traded by volume.
