By June 5, 2019Bordeaux 2018

Quintus 2018 has been released at €96 per bottle ex-negociant, up 5.5% on the 2017 release (€91). It is being offered by the trade for £1,150 per 12×75.

Antonio Galloni (Vinous) scored the wine 89-92 points. In his tasting note he said it was “an especially sombre, brooding Quintus”.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (Wine Advocate) awarded a slightly higher 94-96 points and said it was “beautifully done”.

James Suckling commented on its “energetic finish at the end” and gave a barrel range of 93-94 points.

Other commentators include Jane Anson (Decanter, 94), who said it was “a highly successful and seductive wine”.

Today’s release is coming to market above all other vintages currently available. Buyers looking for value may wish to consider the 2014, which was awarded 93 points by Neal Martin and is available at a 41% discount.
