By August 2, 2018Fine Wine Market, Indices

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index closed July on 314.47, down 0.7% on the previous month. This is the index’s first fall since February 2018.

DRC, Richebourg 2014 was July’s top riser, gaining 10.5%. Three champagnes: the recently released Louis Roederer Cristal 2009, Taittinger Comtes Champagne 2006 and Dom Perignon 2006 rose in July.

Masseto 2014 was July’s biggest faller, losing 10%. Many Italian wines have struggled in 2018 and the Italy 100 has been the worst performing sub-index this year.

Each July Liv-ex rebases the Liv-ex 100, to add more recent vintages and to rebalance the index to better reflect the balance of trade. The tables below highlight the changes that have been made.
