The Liv-ex 1000 was the only major index to dip in August: it drifted 0.1% to close on 245.6. The Bordeaux 500 gained 0.5%, while the Liv-ex 100 and Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 both closed the month in positive territory.
The performances of the sub-indices were mixed. The Champagne 50 – up 0.7% – gained the most in August and is also the best performer over one year. The Rest of the World 50 also inched up, gaining 0.4%.
The biggest faller this month was the Rhone 100: it drifted even further from the other sub-indices, dropping 2.8%. It is now down 5.5% over one year while the majority of other indices have been pushing ahead.
