Angelus 2019 has been released at €230 per bottle ex-negociant, down 8.7% on the 2018 release (€252). The wine is coming to market with a recommended retail price of £2,844 per 12×75, down 7% on the 2018 release (£3,060).

James Suckling scored the wine 98-99 points. In his tasting note he said it was “an extremely refined and sharpened Angelus” and added that it was “supple and minerally”.

Jean-Marc Quarin also scored the wine favourably, awarding it 97 points.

Today’s release is coming to the market above a number of physical vintages already available. Buyers looking for relative value have many options.

The 2010 vintage, for example, has several years of ageing in bottle and was awarded 99+ points by Robert Parker in 2015. It is currently available at a very small premium to today’s release.

The estate’s second wine, Carillon d’Angelus, was also released today at €60 per bottle ex-negociant, down 23% on the 2018 release (€78). It has been released with a recommended retail price of £744 per 12×75, down 21.5% on the 2018 (£948)
