Bordeaux 2015 in bottle – perfect scores so far

Many Bordeaux 2015s are now in bottle and have been making their way to wine merchants around the world. At this time each year, trading activity for the newly physical vintage increases as merchants find renewed interest in the wines and critics publish updated reviews.

Jane Anson and Jeb Dunnuck have come out with a number of scores for Bordeaux 2015. They have found perfection in several bottles and both critics agree that Margaux and Figeac are worthy of triple-digit scores.

Margaux 2015 – living up to its promise

Margaux 2015, which is being released in a commemorative bottle, has seen steeply rising prices in recent weeks. At En Primeur a number of critics believed it worthy of a potential 100-point score and it was voted wine of the vintage by Liv-ex members.

Anson commented: “It stood out as a potential wine of the vintage during en primeur and it is more than living up to its promise.”

Figeac 2015 – hold onto your hat

Figeac 2015 was also lauded at En Primeur. Dunnuck now describes it as “a hold onto your hat wine”, adding: “Everyone owes it to themselves to try and taste this wine at least once!”

Collectors will note its low Market Price relative to others listed in the table above.

The trade will, no doubt, watch closely as more reviews are published on the “terrific” (Dunnuck) Bordeaux 2015s – and not just at the very top of the pyramid, but further down as well.

Developments and further analysis will be covered on Liv-ex Insights as scores become available. You can subscribe for updates using the box below.
