Liv-ex 100 gains 1% in June

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index closed June on 307.1, up 1.04% on the previous month. The index has now reversed the losses made in April, and stands at the highest level since October 2011.

Four regions are represented amongst the top risers. DRC, Tache 2011 (13.2%) came top of the pile, making its second consecutive month of increases after falling in April.

Paul Jaboulet Aine, Hermitage la Chapelle 2012 (-3.2%) was one of the worst performers for the second month in a row. The volatile Leoville Las Cases 2010 is once again the biggest faller (-6.2%), having achieved the same status in April. Last month it was the largest riser.

Index Updates

Every summer, Liv-ex updates the components of its indices to best reflect the market. From today the composition of the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 has been updated. The 2004 vintage has been removed and replaced by the 2014 vintage. For Latour the composition of the index remains unchanged, to comprise of the 2002-2011 vintages. You can find out more about the indices here. The Liv-ex 100 will be revised next month.

The Fine Wine 50 closed the month at 345.63, an increase of 0.27% from May.
