Liv-ex 100 gains 0.7% in March

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index closed March on 304.30, up 0.7%. This is the sixteenth consecutive month that the index has risen, and it is up 2.3% thus far in 2017.

Once again both the top movers and fallers have come from a variety of regions. Paul Jaboulet Aine, Hermitage Chapelle (WA 97) led the way, up 7.3%, whilst Latour 2005, which saw an ex-chateau release midway through March, has increased 4.7% this month.

Cheval Blanc 2009 increased 4% this month, undoing the losses made in February.

99-point Vieux Chateau Certan 2009 was this month’s biggest faller (-7.3%), wiping away most of the gains made in February, when it was the month’s greatest riser.
