Summary Purpose
We are looking for a Bordeaux Market Analyst to build trusted relationships across the Bordeaux supply chain, champion the use of real market data and enhance Liv-ex’s ability to collect and analyse Bordeaux-specific market information. The role will help develop and support Market Intelligence products and reinforce Liv-ex’s position as the fine wine industry’s reference point for pricing and liquidity data.
This role will suit someone with strong knowledge of the Bordeaux market—its wines, producers, négociants and culture—who is able to combine quantitative data insights with qualitative intelligence gathered directly from the region. They will be skilled at building trusted relationships, operating effectively within a traditional market environment and contributing commercially by identifying opportunities to sell data and Market Intelligence solutions.
Responsibilities:
Primary Role Objectives
- Build trusted relationships with producers and négociants, positioning Liv-ex as a long-term partner.
- Act as a Liv-ex data evangelist in Bordeaux, promoting the use of real market data in pricing and selling decisions.
- Collect primary data and local intelligence to complement Liv-ex’s transactional data.
- Produce deep, Bordeaux-specific market analysis.
- Over time, contribute to the development of Market Intelligence products tailored to different points of the Bordeaux supply chain.
Revenue-Driving Focus
- Identify and sell Liv-ex data and Market Intelligence products directly to négociants and eventually to producers.
- Support the commercial team by sharing insights that inform pricing, trading and sales strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help develop scalable products for Bordeaux buyers and the wider Bordeaux market (producers, courtiers, négociants and financial institutions).
Strategic Impact
- Help position Liv-ex as the default reference for fine wine price data, liquidity data and Market Intelligence within the Bordeaux ecosystem.
- Strengthen Liv-ex’s presence and role as a long-term partner in the region.
- Contribute to a data-led feedback loop: local data > Liv-ex analysis > commercial strategy > Bordeaux adoption.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of Bordeaux wines, producers, négociants and regional market culture.
- Keen analytical mindset with the ability to blend quantitative data insights with qualitative, on-the-ground intelligence.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking skills within a traditional market environment.
- Commercial acumen, with comfort driving revenue and selling data or insight-led solutions.
