US buyers maintain higher share of market, Selosse top-traded producer overall

  • Bordeaux led the market, followed by Burgundy, Champagne and the USA.  
  • Vieux Chateaux Certan 2022, Opus One 2022 and Chateau Latour 2015 were the top-traded wines by value.

Bordeaux led the market with a 32.1% share of traded value. The 2020, 2022 and 2015 vintages were the top-traded by value, and LafiteMargaux and Latour the top-traded wines. 

Burgundy took second place, its share of the market up from 16.9% last week to 21.4% this week. Domaine de la Romanee-Conti was the top-traded producer, accounting for 12% of the region’s trade. 

Champagne held steady with a 16.6% share of traded value. Jacques Selosse was the top-traded producer by value, claiming just under a third of the region’s traded value. Selosse has seen an uptick in trade in recent months, with this week’s demand led by both UK and Asian buyers. 

The US had a strong week, claiming 10.4% of traded value. Opus One was the region’s top-traded wine, followed by Harlan Estate and Screaming Eagle’s Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon.  

Tuscany’s share of trade fell from 12.5% last week to 9.3% this week. Piedmont, however, made some gains, up from 2.7% to 4.0%. Giacomo Conterno was by far the region’s top-traded producer, followed by Gaja and Comm. G.B. Burlotto.
