It is being offered by the international trade for £550 per 12×75, a 19.6% increase on the 2021’s opening price (£460 a case).

At this price, buyers looking for value may want to consider the 2019, 2020 and 2015 vintages. See more pricing analysis below.

Critics’ scores

Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine a barrel range of 94-96 points mentioning its ‘intense bouquet’. He adds that the wine is ‘delineated and focused’.

Jean-Marc Quarin scored it 97 points. He said there was ‘ascending development on the finish where the wine ends long on fat tannins, lots of taste and class in the touch.’ He added ‘it is superb!’

Jane Anson scored the wine 94 points calling it ‘beautifully intense’ and ‘seriously impressive’.

Fair Value analysis

Château Saint-Pierre Market Prices are not correlated to Neal Martin scores, the chosen critic for Liv-ex’s ‘Fair Value’ methodology.

The new release comes at a premium to some of its back vintages. Buyers looking for value may want to consider the 94-point 2019 and 2020 vintages, which are both available at a discount to today’s release.

The 2015, which was also scored 94 points by Neal Martin, is available at a slight premium to these two vintages, but benefits from a few more years in bottle.

The 93-point 2014 and 2017 vintages also look attractive.
