Critics’ scores

Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine a barrel range of 91-93 points, highlighting the ‘tightly-wound nose’ that he blames for the wine ‘missing a bit of personality’. He adds that ‘this Pauillac conveys fine tension but will require several years of ageing in bottle’. In his words: ‘I feel this is hiding its virtues at the moment’.

William Kelley (Wine Advocate) gave it a range of 93-95 points. In his tasting note, he commented that it was ‘beautiful’ with ‘a vibrant core of fruit framed by fine, chalky tannins’.

Jean-Marc Quarin scored it 95 points. He said that ‘the palate is both full, juicy and deep, with a unique velvety character’.
