As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Lascombes 2021 has been released at €49.20 per bottle ex-négociant, unchanged on the 2020’s opening price.

It is being offered by the international trade for £589 per 12×75. The 2011, 2014 and 2019 vintages look better value compared to today’s release. See more pricing analysis below.

Critics’ scores

The 2021 Lascombes received 90-92 points from Neal Martin (Vinous), who said that the wine was ‘fine but there are a few edges that need to be shaved and I think they will’.

Antonio Galloni awarded it a slightly higher range of 92-94, and described it as ‘a dense, plush Margaux’.

James Suckling gave it 93-94, while Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) rated it 86-88.

Fair Value analysis

Prices for Lascombes show correlation to both Benchmark critic scores (55%) and age (65%).

Buyers looking for value might be interested in the similarly scored 2019, which is available for a 13.1% discount.

The 2011 vintage also looks attractive, with 93-points from Robert Parker, a decade in bottle and at £575 per case.

Buyers might also wish to consider the 2014, which has 90-points from Martin and costs 11.7% less than today’s release.

The 2021 Chevalier de Lascombes has also been released at €20.40 per bottle ex-négociant. It is being offered at £245 per 12×75.
