The autumn releases from La Place are nearly over for another year. The dry white from Château Yquem and re-release of the 2011 from Château Palmer will put a bow on proceedings when they’re released this week.
We’ll be revisiting our recent 2021 Classification again today, with a post summarising the big risers and fallers across the five tiers.
Trade in Italian wine has dominated many headlines over the past couple of years. It has largely been Tuscan and Piedmontese labels in the limelight, however trading activity around Italian wines goes further and deeper than that.

La Mission Haut-Brion 1989
At the tail end of last week, Neal Martin published an extensive overview of La Mission Haut-Brion for Vinous. This included a wide-ranging set of scores from the 1920s onwards as well as an interview with technical director, Jean-Pierre Delmas.
Two wines were rated 100-points including the storied 1989. As we detailed in our own coverage, the La Mission 1989 has enjoyed triple-digit price appreciation since it was released.
