The Italian region of Chianti Classico currently offers the lowest entry point into fine wine in Italy.

And there are currently 105 LIVE offers from the area starting at just £100 per 12×75, with parcels ranging from single bottles up to 99 6x75s.

The table above highlights the top 10 most traded sub-regions of Italy by value over the past 16 months ranked by their average 12×75 case price per trade.

Chianti Classico, at an average of just £324 per 12×75, offers considerable value in relation to the other regions.

Chianti Classico was most recently in the news following a Wine Advocate announcement last Friday (09/04) of a new Chianti Classico sub-region, ‘San Donato’.

The San Donato sub-region represents the union of three villages: Poggibonsi, Barberino Val d’Elsa and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and can be seen in the map below.

This new sub-zone on the western edge of the region includes labels such as ‘Isole e Olena’ and Marchesi Antinori’s ‘Badia a Passignano’.

For now, we have included all LIVE offers from Chianti Classico. If a low-cost entry point into fine wine is your goal, then Chianti Classico might well be the solution.
