Petrolo Galatrona 2018 has been released at €52 per bottle ex-négociant, equivalent to the 2017 release. The wine is being offered by the international traded at £840 per 12×75.

The Wine Advocate’s Monica Larner awarded the wine (95-97), noting “Luca Sanjust says this is the most Pomerol of the Merlot-based Galatronas he has created, and indeed the wine boasts impeccable balance and depth”. She added “the 2018 vintages offers energy, freshness and tonic fruit”.

James Suckling gave the wine 98 points, stating the wine is “full bodied, yet so precise and polished with creamy, layered tannins that caress your palate”. He mentions that wine is from organically grown grapes and should be tried after 2023.

The wine comes to the market above all recent vintages, excluding the 98-point 2009 which trades at a significant premium. The 2016 (98) and 2013 (97) vintages are priced below today’s release yet carry a higher critic score and multiple years in bottle.
