Dominus 2016 has been released in the UK at £2,200 per 12×75, the same price as last year’s release, which has since risen in value.

The Wine Advocate’s Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW awarded the wine 100 points and praised its “compelling earthy accents” and “incredible vibrancy”.

James Suckling also reviewed today’s release, scoring it 98 points. The critic commented in his tasting note: “There’s so much going on, from flowers to currants. The palate is full and powerful, but what impresses most are the ripe tannins and the amazing poise at the finish”.

Currently, the 2016 is the most affordable 100-point offering from Dominus: at this price point, it sits 9% below 2015, 19% below 2010, and 28% below 2013. It is also the same price as the almost perfect 2008, which offers bottle age. Buyers have certainly plenty to choose from.

Monday also marked the release of Dominus’s “baby brother” Othello 2016 at £360 per 12×75.
