Broader fine wine market up 0.57% in August

The Liv-ex 1000 index tracks the price performance of 1,000 wines from across the world using the Liv-ex Mid Price. It is the broadest measure of the market and comprises seven sub-indices: the Bordeaux 500, the Bordeaux Legends 50, the Burgundy 150, the Champagne 50, the Rhone 100, the Italy 100 and the Rest of the World 50.

Other Liv-ex indices include the Liv-ex 100 (the industry leading benchmark) and the Liv-ex 50 (which tracks the daily price movement of the First Growths).

This month, the Liv-ex 1000 index closed on 359.71, up 0.57% on the previous month. Within the sub-indices, the Rest of the World 50 was up the most (2.29%) followed by the Italy 100 (2.14%).

The biggest faller this month was the Rhone 100 sub-index, down 1.23%.
