Conseillante 2017

Conseillante 2017 has been released at €120 per bottle ex-negociant, down 20% on the 2016 release of €150. It is being offered by the trade at £1,476 per 12×75, a decrease of 20% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £1,860 per case.

Critics have praised this year’s Conseillante. Neal Martin (Vinous) scored the wine 93-95 points. He noted that the wine “is less powerful than the 2016 at this stage but it is clearly a very well crafted, almost sensual Pomerol by winemaker Marielle Cazaux”.

Jeb Dunnuck and Jane Anson were also impressed. Dunnuck (JebDunnuck.com) commented that “it’s an undeniable success in the vintage, if not the wine of the vintage in Pomerol” and awarded 94-96 points. Jane Anson (Decanter) agreed that “it’s an excellent take on the vintage” and scored the wine 94 points.
