Duhart Milon 2017 released

By May 17, 2018Bordeaux 2017

Duhart Milon 2017 has been released at €48 per bottle ex-negociant, a 13% decrease on the 2016 release price of €55. It is being offered by merchants for £565 per 12×75, down 11.7% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £640 per case.

Neal Martin scored the wine at 89-91 points for Vinous, commenting that it was a “classic Duhart-Milon”. Jane Anson was much more positive, awarding a score of 94 points. She praised the wine as “one of the successes of the appellation”.

According to her notes, the estate was around 5% affected by frost, but only the part of the vineyard used for the second wine was damaged.

Today’s release pitches the 2017 at around the same level as other recent vintages. Buyers seeking a wine with some years in bottle might therefore look back to the 2011 and 2012. Those seeking quality might look to the higher-scored 2014. Each of these are available at discounts to today’s release.
