Talking Trade – Liv-ex.com and Latour released

  • New Liv-ex site launched
  • Overall trade slightly slower than last week
  • Bordeaux and Rhone 2015s trading well
  • ex-Chateau releases of Latour 2006 and Forts Latour 2012

The observant among you will notice that this week’s Talking Trade looks a little different to usual. Last weekend, we released our new website and announced the exciting development due to take place on liv-ex.com this year. You can read more about the developments here.

Overall trade dropped from last week as buying eased off with much of the trade at ProWein on Monday and Tuesday. Although Bordeaux’s market share dropped slightly to 60.9%, the 2015s continue to trade well. Rhone’s trade share lifted to 5.5% thanks to increased trade for the 2015 vintage wines by Auguste Clape, Pegau, Paul Jaboulet Aine.

Clarence Haut Brion 2015 was this week’s most traded wine. The last trade price of £1,060 is a 17% increase on the ex-London release price. There has been a noted uplift in trade for this wine since Haut Brion 2015 was awarded by 100 points by both Neal Martin and Lisa Perotti-Brown.

Latour 2006 and Forts Latour 2012 release

On Wednesday Latour 2006 and Forts Latour 2012 were released ex-Chateau. 4,000 cases of Latour 2006, were offered at €450 per bottle ex-negociant and £2,625 per 6×75 in London. The wine last traded on Liv-ex on Thursday at £2,200, around 16% below the recent release.

7,000 cases of Forts Latour 2012 were offered for the first time at €145 per bottle ex-negociant, and at around £865 per 6×75 in London.
