Newsletter – March 2018

By March 15, 2018Member updates

Welcome to the March 2018 Liv-ex newsletter
It’s been a busy month at Liv-ex. Despite the holidays in the UK and China, February trade remained strong, boosted by the gradual release of Bordeaux 2015s and their in-bottle scores. We also learnt that 2017 yields in areas of the Left Bank were surprisingly high, despite the devastating frosts that hit Bordeaux last April. Finally, we have been working hard on our new website which we will begin to roll out over the weekend.

New website launch
We are very excited to announce that the first phase of our new website launch will take place this weekend. However, while we get everything up to speed, several of our services will experience disruption and may not be available at times. Affected services include: Liv-ex.com, Vineinternational.com, Wine Matcher and all Liv-ex APIs and data feeds. Major work is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Friday 16th March UK time. For more information, please contact your Account Manager or email [email protected].

New video: Liv-ex in 60 seconds
Our latest video sums up Liv-ex in under 60 seconds. The video explores how you, our members, use Liv-ex data, trading and settlement services to support and grow your businesses. You can watch it, and read our blog post on the topic, here.

Interview with Almaviva’s Francisco Zilleruelo
Almaviva was the top Chilean wine in the latest Liv-ex Global Classification. We recently caught up with the estate’s Commercial Director, Francisco Zilleruelo to find out more about Almaviva and the estate’s future plans. To read the full interview, click here.

How to optimise your fine wine list
We’ve designed a simple guide explaining how to best format your wine list. Having a well formatted list enables you to make your stock more visable and LWIN compatible, allowing you to make the most of your Liv-ex membership. It also allows us to bring trading opportunities to your attention more quickly and supply valuations more efficiently. For more information, click here.

Updates for international payments
From 26th May, Liv-ex payment details will be changing for international customers paying us in EURO. This is due to a structural reoganisation of our bank, HSBC. The account number will remain the same, but the sort code, SWIFT BIC (BIC8), Branch BIC (BIC11) and IBAN will be changing. Payments to the old account details from the SEPA area will continue to work for only the next three months. For more information and the new account details, please click here.

Liv-ex in the news
This month Bloomberg reported on how the stock market affects the price of wine. The Telegraph praised Liv-ex data and valuation services, adding that Liv-ex is the ‘industry standard’. While the drinks business focused on Burgundy and covered the performance of DRC in the secondary market.
