By March 21, 2018Bordeaux, Releases

Today, Latour 2006 and Forts Latour 2012 were released ex-Chateau. 4,000 cases of Latour 2006, or 40% of the production, are being offered at €450 per bottle ex-negociant. Merchants in the UK are offering the wine at around £5,250 per 12×75. As the chart below shows, this represents a premium of 16% on the cases of the wine available in the secondary market.

Latour has been the slowest moving First Growth over the last twelve months. The Latour index has risen just 2% in the last twelve months compared to increases of 4.4% for the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50, which tracks the prices of the five First Growths, and 7.1% for the broader Bordeaux 500 index.

7,000 cases of Forts Latour 2012 have been released for the first time at €145 per bottle ex-negociant, and are being offered by merchants at around £1,730 per 12×75. These are reportedly tied offers in some instances, with one case of Latour attached to every two of Forts Latour, although some merchants are offering both wines untied.
