Welcome to the November 2017 Liv-ex newsletter
Exposure – the total value of bids and offers – on your Exchange climbed to a high of £48million by the end of October. It’s not all about Bordeaux, as this post on the broadening market shows. Those curious about this year’s harvest are free to read Gavin Quinney’s helpful summary, found on Liv-ex Insights.

Interview with Michael Egan
Liv-ex recently caught up with Michael Egan, a fine wine expert and consultant who specialises in the detection of counterfeit wines. In 2013 Egan was the principal expert witness for the trials of Eric Greenberg and Rudy Kurniawan. In the interview, we discuss his career, counterfeit wines and detecting them. You can read it here.

Bordeaux 2015 – An update
In October, Liv-ex released a short report on Bordeaux 2015. In it, we look back at the quality of the vintage, provide an update on price movements since release, and look at where value can currently be found. You can download it here.

Liv-ex in the news
Bloomberg’s Guy Collins reported on the continued strong performance of Burgundy in October, plus the high value of trade for top Bordeaux wines Ausone, Petrus and Le Pin on the market. The Drinks Business commented on Liv-ex’s Bordeaux 2015 report, as did China’s Lookvin (article in Mandarin Chinese), who also ran some commentary on Australia’s increasing presence on the secondary market.
