Welcome to the September 2017 Liv-ex newsletter 
After several weeks of subdued activity on the Exchange, the holidays are now coming to an end and trade is returning to normal. Over August the Liv-ex 100 index was up 0.5% and the Liv-ex 1000 posted gains of 1.5%, led by the Burgundy 150.

New World releases
Opus One 2014, Masseto 2014 and Almaviva 2015 have all been released this week. You can find the latest analysis on the wines via Liv-ex Insights, here. Other upcoming releases include Beaucastel, Hommage J Perinn 2015 and James Suckling’s 100-point Sena on Monday.

Wine Matcher matches one million lines of dataWinematchervid
Liv-ex is pleased to announce that Wine Matcher has now helped our members to match over one million lines of data. Current users have described the product as “a very powerful tool”, that is already saving customers up to 20-30 hours a week.

In focus: Liv-ex Prime
Liv-ex Prime offers weekly deliveries from London direct to your address in Hong Kong for just £28 per 12×75 case – or £14 for a six pack. Stock is cleared by 1pm on Wednesday and arrives with you in Hong Kong the following Wednesday. You can automatically ship stock, or manually select which wines you want to ship each week. Liv-ex in the news
This month the Financial Times commented that many assets look overpriced, following an analysis of investment opportunities. Meanwhile, The Drinks Business examined how technology is becomming an increasingly vital part of the wine business and reported that Lafite 2014 was the top traded wine by value so far this year. Liv-ex Team
The data team is pleased to welcome Katharina Hahn. Katharina has joined Liv-ex on a data internship for a six month placement from the Geisenheim University, where she is currently studying international wine business. Katharina will be helping the data team with Wine Matcher and the creation of LWINs. Her hobbies include handball, tennis and skiing.
