Pavie Macquin 2016 has been released at €58.80 per bottle ex-negociant, up 11.4% on the 2015’s opening price of (€52.80). It is being offered by UK merchants for £720 per 12×75, up 27.4% in sterling terms on the 2015 release of £565.

Overall, critic scores for Pavie Macquin 2016 were positive. Neal Martin scored the wine 94-96 points and said that it is “one of the best Pavie-Macquins that [he has] tasted”. Antonio Galloni was also full of praise and awarded the wine 96-99. He suggested that the “2016 Pavie Macquin is also one of the most riveting wines of the vintage”.

Prices for Pavie Macquin are 80.1% correlated to Wine Advocate score. Based on today’s release of £720 per 12×75, Liv-ex’s ‘fair value’ methodology places Pavie Macquin just below the trend line.

Buyers confident in the quality of the 2016 will find value in this year’s release, which is available at a 9.8% discount to the equally scored 2010. The 2012 and 2008 vintages may also look attractive.
