Following the release of Montrose 2013 this morning, Lynch Bages 2013 released this afternoon. At €50 per bottle ex-negociant it is down 17% on the price of the €60 per bottle 2012, matching Pichon Baron in terms of price reduction, but also coming in at £50 cheaper per case in a market that is looking for one thing only: value. As the chart above shows, this makes the 2013 the cheapest vintage available.
Of the big names that have released so far – Pontet, Montrose, Baron and Lynch, all of which have scored 91-93 from Suckling – it is the most affordable. And perhaps this is why there are early reports of some success.
