Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000 index drops 1% in February

Even non-Bordeaux regions are not immune to current market conditions, and the Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000 fell for the fifth consecutive month in February. All of its sub-indices dropped except the Rest of the World 50 and the Bordeaux Legends 50, which ran flat. In February the Rhone accounted for 10.6% of all trade by value, a record high for the region, but this did not translate into price rises for the Rhone 100, which was one of the month’s biggest fallers. Its latest dip brought it into negative territory over a two year period, joining Bordeaux (for more on the Rhone, subscribers to Cellar Watch can read the Final Thought in the  March Market Report, released last week).
