Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 Index breaks new ground

First Growth prices broke new ground this week, boosting the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 Index to a new high of 350.55. The index, which tracks the price movement of the Premier Crus (vintages 1998-2007), has gained 11.33 points (3.34%) since the beginning of August.

As you can see from the graph below, the index has pushed upwards over the past few weeks. With traders now back at their desks, will prices continue to rise?
