Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index bounces back in August

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index ended August at 303.58, up 0.9% on the previous month. After edging down slightly in July, prices now appear to be pointing north, though the current level is still a touch below June’s high of 304.67. The index is up 33.4% year-on-year and 26.8% year-to-date.

All of the other Liv-ex indices saw similar gains. The Liv-ex Claret Chip Index – made up of top-rated First Growths – rose 1.6% to 365.66 and is up 34.7% year-to-date and 42.7% year-on-year.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine Investables Index saw a +1.03% change in August, reaching 298.24 by month end. The index is up 35.4% year-on-year and 27.2% year-to-date.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 500 Index climbed 0.7% last month to 235.58. It is now up 9.7% year-to-date and 14.9% year-on-year.
