2008 Bordeaux Most Traded

With the 2008 Bordeaux en primeur campaign now moving into its final weeks, we thought it was time to see which wines have dominated trade on the Liv-ex Fine Wine Exchange. Below are the top ten most traded by value and by volume (12x75cl cases only).

It's no surprise to see Lafite Rothschild sitting at the top of the rankings, both by volume and value. In contrast, Haut Brion, which came out later and at higher price than its First Growth peers, is yet to really register on the secondary market. Indeed, it fails to make the volume rankings entirely.

This year's campaign can be seen to be a particular success for Duhart Milon, placed second by volume, and Pontet Canet, which despite releasing a fortnight later than most of the other wines on the list has already made an impact. The campaign so far will be covered in further depth in next week's May Market Report.
