Reuters, the global news provider, published an interesting story on wine prices today – 'Global credit crisis puts damper on wine prices'. It compares the results of recent auctions (in particular the low price achieved by DRC) with the Liv-ex Fine Wine Index, which was down 12.4% in October.
One of the more interesting quotes in the story is from Paul Hart, CEO of Hart Davis Hart: "We saw a lot of old faces in the audience on Saturday night that we haven't seen in a couple of years. There were a lot of us who have been through cycles before and they realize it's an opportunity."
