    Business Systems Analyst – Product Development Team

    A unique opportunity for a hands-on, commercially minded Business Systems Analyst with proven experience of delivering products. The Business System Analyst will work closely with the business teams to develop exciting new product features for the fine wine market.

    Company background

    Liv-ex (The London International Vintners Exchange) was founded in 1999. It operates a business to business electronic wine-trading platform, charging a commission on each transaction. At the same time Liv-ex is the reference for fine wine prices, valuations and other market data, including the Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index (the industry’s benchmark). Liv-ex also provides merchants with fulfilment, storage and transport services through its logistics business – Vine. The business offers its services from a web based platform and a family of APIs at www.liv-ex.com.

    With customers in 35 countries, Liv-ex is used by the vast majority of fine wine merchants around the world. Sales have grown rapidly to exceed £50m. Liv-ex’s growth has coincided with expansion of the internet and the development of the Far East as a wine buying hub.

    The role

    Working alongside the Product Manager, the Business Systems Analyst will have responsibility for writing, managing and delivering technology solutions for the business. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced delivery team where your ability to translate commercial business requirements into technical specifications will be key. As a skilled communicator you will be working directly with business heads to define, test and deploy software solutions engineered by our offshore development teams.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with the business teams, understanding their processes, gathering business requirements and converting those requirements into technical deliverables.
    • Contribute to the on-going development by sharing knowledge, information and lessons learned on a regular basis.
    • Provide technical and functional support for business applications, resolving incidents, investigating and solving problems.
    • Conduct system testing, UAT with users and facilitate go-live of product development.

    Skills/attributes required:

    • Business requirements gathering and documentation skills (min two years)
    • Proven experience of delivering products
    • Some analytical experience
    • Must be passionate and interested in IT
    • Must have enthusiasm and the drive to succeed
    • Ability to analyse and problem solve
    • Outgoing personality and keenness to work in a team environment
    • Highly organised with ability to manage own work load
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong communicator (written & verbal)
    • High levels of motivation
    • Degree level education
