Trading Membership

Liv-ex runs a trading and information platform for a global network of wine merchants and professional traders. We offer a choice of trading over the phone or electronically and access to a comprehensive database of current and historic market prices. Find out more.

To join Liv-ex as a trading member you must be a wine merchant or a professional wine trader. If you have a wine business and are employed in the wine trade full time, then please fill in and return our application form (available online, see below for details). Please ensure that you also provide two trade references. References must be members of the wine trade (preferably based in the UK). On receipt of your signed application form, a staff member of Liv-ex may contact you to request further information. Your application will then be presented to our membership committee and if successful your account will be activated to allow trading on the system. Please allow 5-10 business days for us to process your application.

Step-by-step to becoming a member*

  • Fill in our online application form
  • Send in the full required information, including trade references
  • Liv-ex will contact you by telephone and verify your application
  • Your application will be presented to our membership comittee 
  • If successful, your account will be activated to allow live trading

* Please note that trading members of Liv-ex must be wine merchants or professional traders.

Merchant Packages

Associate Member

- Join the exchange as an occasional trading member, with full information and trading access.
- Trading commissions are charged at 2.75% on the exchange platform and 3% on the auction platform (subject to a minimum of £10 per trade or £1.50 per case).

- Cost: £500 per annum plus VAT (if applicable)

Full Member

- Join the exchange as a regular trading member, with full information and trading access.
- Trading commissions are charged at 2% on the exchange platform and 3% on the auction platform (subject to a minimum of £10 per trade or £1.50 per case).

- Cost: £1,500 per annum plus VAT (if applicable)
