The 2020 Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse has been released for €90 per bottle ex-négociant, up 15.4% on the 2019 release.

The wine is being offered by the international trade for £1,080 per 12×75, 9.5% more than the current Market Price of the 2019.

Critical opinion

Today’s release received 93-95 points from Neal Martin (Vinous), who called it “a seriously fine debut from Joséphine Duffau-Lagarrosse”.

Jeb Dunnuck said that “this dense, powerful beauty almost requires a fork”. “Brilliant all the way”, he awarded it 95-97+ points.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Advocate) gave it 95-97, noting that “the medium to full-bodied palate delivers bags of juicy black and blue fruits with a soft texture and seamless freshness, finishing long and with beautiful purity”.

James Suckling rated it 97-98 and described it as “a very cool and refined young Bordeaux”.

Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider) awarded one of the highest score brackets, 97-99 points.

Fair Value

Across back vintages, the 2008 currently offers the best price-per-point ratio. It boasts 95-points from Martin and costs £595.

The 2011 received 94+ from Robert Parker and also presents value at £630 per case.
